Tut: After The Rain

After The Rain

This tutorial was written by me on May 8, 2010 using PSP 9.  All my tutorials assume you have some working knowledge of PSP and/or Animation Shop.

Supplies:

Tube of choice - I'm using the art of Selena Fenech.  She is no longer with CILM, but you can use any tube you wish.  See the list of licensing companies on the right side of this blog.

Scrap Kit - I'm using a beautiful PTU kit from AW Designs called "After The Rain".  You can purchase this kit here.

Mask of choice - I'm using WSL Mask 79 from Chelle at Weescotslass Creations.  You can download from her blog here.

Font of choice - I'm using Taggettes Plus which you can get from here.

To begin open mask and tube in PSP and minimize for now.

1.  Open Frame 2 in PSP - ShiftD to duplicate - close original - image - resize 85% all layers unchecked - new raster layer - floodfill with white move to bottom - c/p paper of choice as new layer - apply mask - merge group

2.  With magic wand click outside of the frame - c/p Paper 16 as new layer - delete - move below frame layer - select none - on your paper layer use eraser tool to erase around the outer edge of frame - dropshadow frame

3.  C/P tall grass as new layer - move below frame - erase any parts showing outside of frame - dropshadow

4.  C/P Cloud 1 as new layer - move below frame - resize - position - duplicate - image - mirror - position - dropshadow both layers

5.  C/P rainbow as new layer - rotate - move below frame layer and original cloud layer, but above duplicate cloud layer - dropshadow

6.  C/P your tube as new layer - position - resize if needed - duplicate - move duplicate layer below frame - using eraser tool erase any parts showing below frame - on top tube layer - erase any parts you don't want showing outside of frame - dropshadow bottom tube only

7.  Highlight frame layer - c/p element 14 as new layer - rotate - resize if needed - position across the top of frame - duplicate - image - flip - dropshadow both layers

8.  C/P dragonfly as new layer - resize - rotate - position on left side of frame - duplicate - image - mirror - position on right side of frame - dropshadow both layers

9.  Close white background layer - crop/resize tag to your preference - add copyright/license and name - save as .png.

That's it!!  Thank you for trying my tutorial!!

Hello! I'm a SAHM of 2 beautiful children Wyatt & Caitlyn and have been married to my wonderful husband Everett for 9 years. I live in a small town in NW Florida and am owned by several miniature dachshunds. I've been PSPing for 7 years now and just now decided to put my tags into tutorial form. When I'm not busy taking care of my various animals which not only is dachshunds, but includes various types of fowl and poultry I am playing with my kids or at my computer.
